Leaving for Rwanda

As i pack and get ready for my 5th trip with Team Heart i reflect on my past missions and how it has changed my life.  I am often asked why i go to Rwanda to work ; using my vacation time.   I can only say, as hard as the two weeks of work can be, it is also one of the most soul enriching experiences of my life.   I have never been so close to pure graditude as when i take care of these wonderful individuals.   I feel blessed.   It is I who gathers more out of the experience.   This is why i "pay" to work.  It is also a fantastic experience to  work with so many who have the same common goal.   I sometimes feel like this must be what it is like to be in the trenches;   supporting each other;  understanding what is important and maybe why we are on this earth.   So it is with great excitement that i go back to Rwanda and visit my friends and former patients.   I hope to journal this experience as much as possible.
